As of April 13, 2009, she is ranked World No. 7 by the Women’s Tennis Association. She is the reigning French Open singles champion and was the runner-up in singles at the 2007 French Open and the 2008 Australian Open.

One of the best things about the tournament at Indian Wells (previously the Pacific Life Open, now called the BNP Paribas Open) is watching the pro players on the warm-up courts. Getting close to the players you can really see just how cleanly and powerfully the pros hit the ball. They make it look so very easy. Here is Maria Kirilenko of Moscow, Russia warming up her serve.

If you’re like me, you like tennis, the TV show Flight of the Conchords, Roger Federer and Nike. This commercial combines elements of them all. Federer is forced to fend off quite the attack. Luckily, he’s been trained for just such an occasion.

Water constitutes about two-thirds of muscle tissue, 25 percent of fatty tissue and acts within each cell to transport nutrients and dispel waste. It regulates body temperature to allow heat to evaporate from the body in the form of sweat. In one hour of exercise, the body can lose more than a quart of water, depending on air temperature and the intensity of exercise.

Last November, I signed up for the Intro Series at Shakti Vinyasa in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood…mainly because it was nearby. I thought I would try it and see how it goes. Before starting yoga I imagined a room full of people sitting for hours with their hands together going “Ooooooooommmmmmm” while listening to music featuring sitars. Thankfully this is not the case. Well, part of the case but my initial concerns proved wildly inaccurate.

So this is just a silly commercial, but it does have Roger Federer in it. And he does have the best shoes. By far. This video also features Tiger Woods and Derek Jeter…who are most impressed by RFed.

Wow. I really didn’t think Novak would have time to chase down this shot. He is an incredible player to be able to accomplish feats like this while playing tennis. I’m not sure what tournament this was from but watch this clip. What a talented player.
